Hello!

Welcome, sweet mama, to my online home where I invite you to view the stories of laboring mothers. My hope is that you will find these stories inspiring, and that you will walk away empowered, knowing that birth is not an experience to fear, but one to be enjoyed and remembered.

When I asked Brittany what was most important to her for me to capture during her birth experience, she said hands down their reactions to seeing and holding their daughter for the first time. Brittany openly shared with me about the miscarriage she and Reese suffered before Abigail, and how their rainbow baby was truly a symbol of God's goodness and faithfulness in their lives. What an incredible honor it was to be there to capture their precious and priceless reactions the moment they saw Abigail's face.

Brittany texted me Saturday morning around 8:00am letting me know she had been in labor since the early hours of the night before and that she was 3cm dilated with contractions coming regularly. With this being Brittany's first delivery, I didn't expect to hear from her again for a couple of hours so I decided to clean my apartment and was checking my phone every 15 minutes or so just to make sure I didn't miss anything. After vacuuming (loudest chore, of course!), I checked it one more time and I had a text from Brittany that I had received TEN minutes prior saying she was at 7cm and they were about to break her water!!! *CUE PURE CHAOS* Thankfully my apartment is only 30 minutes away and it was early enough that not a lot of people were out on the road (also thankful for not getting a speeding ticket :). I arrived 18 minutes before Abigail made her incredible entry into the world, which was just enough time to capture some really sweet moments between Brittany, Reese, her doula, and midwife. The delivery itself was amazing, but the moments that followed will stay with me forever. When Brittany said it was going to be emotional and those first reactions were the most important to her, she wasn't lying one bit. There wasn't a dry eye in the room! And now it's your turn to cry some happy tears, but make sure you grab some tissues!

Congratulations, Reese & Brittany! Abigail is beautiful and God is so good!

This reaction...SO SWEET!

Reese held his girl for the first time skin-to-skin and sang hymns to her and we all cried again.

These last moments with Brittany & Reese were truly as if no one else were in that moment with them. Such treasured memories of their first hour as a family of three!
