Aset Seshat Avianna | Atlanta Medical Center Birth Photographer
When I walked into the delivery room, Nykole was walking around and gave me a huge smile. She had created a calming atmosphere with essential oils diffusing and string lights plugged up by the window. She was in her rhythm with each contraction and was able to stay focused through each one. Mic and her midwife, Anjli, from the Atlanta Birth Center were there for every step of the way helping her maintain focus, provide relief when needed through contractions, and give her support through encouraging words.
Nykole labored in just about every position imaginable from standing, to walking, to squatting, to sitting in the tub, to lying down, standing in the shower, and even dancing. The view from her room was an amazing view of the city, and one of my favorite moments of the whole day was watching the sun go down behind the Atlanta skyline while also watching Nykole go through her own transition in labor. One by one her friends and family members arrived and gathered in the room to offer support when needed and eagerly awaited the arrival of baby girl Aset. And at 3:06am Nykole, with the help of her partner and midwife, brought a healthy, beautiful baby girl into the world.
The miracle of birth never loses it's luster or excitement, and I am overwhelmed with joy for my clients every. single. time. Congratulations, Nykole & Mic, and thank you for allowing me the pleasure of serving your family!!
